Why MiddleChild.Tech?

Updated: Sep 24, 2018

Let me start by saying that I am a middle child. Not only in the middle, but the middle of THREE (3) GIRLS! --I still have no idea how my mother did it!

Promoting a Generality
I used to see birth order and the comments about how it affects achievements and personality traits in the same way that I view astrological signs; you can always find some truth to any list of traits if you look hard enough. Still, there is a version of this theory that I do believe.

12 Traits of Middle Children
(There is an article with details of each here: 12 Definitive Traits of a Middle Child)
  1. Middle children have strong friendships and relationships.

  2. Middle children are great mediators.

  3. Middle children are wonderful negotiators.

  4. Middle children are easygoing.

  5. Middles are innovative.

  6. Middle children are more independent.

  7. Middle children are self-motivated.

  8. Middle children are successful.

  9. Middle children are good co-workers.

  10. Middle children don't crack under pressure.

  11. Middle children are great parents.

  12. Middle kids have level-heads.

Why Not Tech?Reading through this list, all of those are talents that I believe are essential to being not only a good IT professional, but also a great manager and / or team member. (Yes, even the parenting one, as most manager positions involve more "parenting" than you'd think!) When it came time to pick my own personal DNS, I chose this "middlechild.tech" one because I like for it to be representative of those qualities and, by extension, a description of myself. What better brand to build around?
